Outlook starts up slow and changing status is slow.

This occurs if you have MSN Messenger integration enabled for Out’n About! status messages but MSN Messenger is not running.

Either disable MSN Messenger integration or start MSN Messenger.

Note: You do not need to be logged into MSN Messenger to resolve this issue.
